We worked with Andrew and Ailsa Heritage to design the Great Movies book for Parragon, which draws upon the massive Kobal Collection at the Picture Desk photo library. Although the book orbits Hollywood, all the significant national industries in World Cinema are discussed, and the many genres explored across key feature spreads—Film Noir, Nouvelle Vague, Kitchen Sink, Martial Arts, and Prison Movies, for example, and alongside each great movie is a further five with related themes or stories. The book’s ten chapters each work chronologically, starting at the dawn of the industry and coming right up to today.
