The illustrated companion to the BBC TV series Wainwright Walks with Julia Bradbury. Author Martin Wainwright (no relation) recounts the story of Alfred Wainwright’s “unforgettable legacy”, and describes ten choice Wainwright Walks in the Fells, including Blencathra, Helvellyn, Haystacks and Castle Crag.
The book includes reproductions of Wainwright’s detailed drawings taken from his original guides and these form an intimate counterpoint to Richard Mervyn’s spectacular aerial stills from the Series, along with majestic pictures from photographers Michael Sayles, Rob Grange, Homer Sykes, Derry Brabs and Aimie Wright.
